Starkey Lab’s new S Series circuits have virtually eliminated feedback {whistling} from hearing instruments. And now they have added “Voice IQ”-the most advanced speech in noise system yet. Voice IQ allows the patient to hear comfortably in noise and to understand speech better than ever before. The unit is able to detect the type of environment the patient is in and what type of noise is present-adjusting automatically for patient comfort and understanding.

The S Series IQ is available in all styles of hearing instruments but most patients prefer the RIC {receiver in the ear}.This unit is the most comfortable style as it allow the ear canal to remain virtually open. All styles of the S Series are 100% resistant to water, humidity and perspiration both inside and out.

There has never been a more exciting time to consider improving your hearing with new technology. Hearing instruments today are “smarter” than ever! Circuits are now able to determine the exact listening environment you are in and adjust automatically. They can detect if your are in a quiet setting, in noise with a speaker present, in noise with no speaker present or listening to music.

One new trend in hearing instrument technology is the use of open ear canal fittings. When the ear canal is “open” and not blocked with a custom molded hearing instrument the results is a more natural sound especially the sound of the patient’s own voice. These circuits also have front and back microphones-the back microphones automatically turn off in noise-providing better separation of speech from noise.

Many hearing instruments today are compatible with Bluetooth technology-this allows the hearing instruments to connect without wires to cell phones, i-pods, home phones and TV’s.
